Blue Sky Celebrants adopt a Charity!

Blue Sky have adopted a Charity that is close to our hearts. So many people suffer from a hidden illness. This illness is so insidious that it is often not noticed until it’s too late. A footballer may break a leg, a bowler strain a thigh or a netballer rupture an ACL. Mental Health problems hit people across the board and sadly it can prove FATAL! Particularly amongst Young People who are subjected to a maze of unhealthy stresses and strains in their lives. As with all who suffer from Mental Health problems, often it is difficult to talk to anyone about them. BUT talking to someone is the best medicine. It means that the issues are shared and there is someone who cares. The Charity we have adopted is called PAPYRUS – Prevention of Young Suicide.

PAPYRUS offer a telephone Care Service called  contactable on 0800 068 41 41 or 07786 209697 or pat@papyrus-uk.org Below is an extract from their website:

HOPELINEUK is a specialist telephone service staffed by trained professionals who give non-judgemental support, practical advice and information to children, teenagers and young people up to the age of 35 who are worried about how they are feeling or anyone who is concerned about a young person.

In order to raise funds for this fantastic cause we have set up a Facebook Fundraiser so please visit and donate generously or go directly to PAPYRUS please – it really is a matter of life or death. Thank you so much. Here is the link:

Please help me celebrate….

PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide

Good day everyone. I am about to celebrate 🎉 a biggish birthday although my dear mother-on-law reminds me often that l’m not as old as she is, which is true!! To mark this occasion I have started a #fundraiser on my Facebook page. It is with #PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide. I have set a very modest target 🎯 of £150 which I hope will be smashed through with your generosity and that of my Facebook friends. As I’m sure you know that Mental Health amongst young people is a huge problem. It is as dangerous as any life-threatening illness. #PAPYRUS offer a help line for young people to call so their lives can be saved. Also #PAPYRUS can help those who are worried about someone they know who may be suffering (https://papyrus-uk.org/).

Please visit my Facebook page and be as generous as you can for a very worthy and important cause. Thank you so much 😊

Not sure which way to go…?

BlankSignWe know that when you are faced with organising a Life Celebration you face a multitude of choices. Choices that, in everyday life, you will not have to make. At Blue Sky Celebrants we would like to help you make some of those choices a little easier. No, we can’t help with the choice of dress, godparents or which funeral director to use (Although on our ‘useful links’ page there are some suggestions which we cannot endorse but can signpost you to). However, when it comes to deciding what content you would like in the ceremony or celebration we really can help you. We work with you to design bespoke ceremonies to celebrate, well, anything really. Would you like to include a ‘sand ceremony’ in your wedding celebration or to mark the blending of a new family? Would you like to ‘jump the broom’ or light a unity candle. Perhaps you would like a ‘rose ceremony’ to celebrate the passing of a loved one. Maybe put together some vows for a naming ceremony or celebrate an adoption. All of these things are ‘rites of passage’ where we, as humanity, move from one thing to another. These can be super-stressful moments that will have a lasting impact on your life and the lives of those around you. Marking these changes with a ceremony or celebration helps with the changes we face. Gives us a moment in time to look back on. Gives us vows or promises made that can shore up difficult times. Reminds us of the love that surrounds us through our family and friends, our values and our beliefs.
